T-Wolves Back In Action

CUSD’s Unified Soccer is back in action and the Timberwolves traveled to play the Clovis High Cougars this past Wednesday. They defeated the Cougars starting off their season on the right foot. This is such a great opportunity for these students and a great way to build a sense of community. The Timberwolves only have one home game this year (10/4) and there are already some sports programs scheduling to attend the game and support them.

Women’s Volleyball was on the court this past Tuesday welcoming the Sanger Apaches into the REC. It was elementary night and there were tons of people in the gym! The Lady Timberwolves dominated the whole game sweeping the Apaches, 25-17, 25-18, and 25-11. This non-conference win brings the Timberwolves overall record to 8-5. They will begin TRAC play next week as they travel to Clovis North on Tuesday (9/26) and welcome Clovis High on Thursday (9/28).

Men’s Water Polo came into Wednesday’s game trying to overcome a heartbreaking loss last week against the CW Golden Eagles. They traveled to Clovis North to take on the Broncos. After a close first quarter, the Broncos pulled away ultimately winning 16-5. This was not what the Wolfpack was expecting as a result but they will try to get back on track as they will travel to Buchanan to take on the Bears next Wednesday(9/27).

Women’s Water Polo was the opposite. They are following a come from behind win last week against Clovis West and headed to Clovis North on a confidence high. However, some things don’t last forever as they fell to the Broncos Wednesday night. Maybe this was a reality check for the Timberwolves showing how tough TRAC play is going to be every week. We will find out if they can get back to their winning ways as they head to Buchanan next Wednesday (9/27).

Clovis East football traveled to Sunnyside last Friday to take on the Wildcats. After falling behind 14-0 at the half the Wolfpack turned it around scoring 14 unanswered points. It was almost 21, however, there was a holding call on a T-Wolves pick-six that would have given them the lead. Sunnyside scored with 1 minute left on the clock and the Wolfpack just couldn’t answer back. However, senior RB Romello Knight stole the show scoring twice and touching at least 25 times. The Wolfpack has a good chance at getting their first win in over two years on Friday 9/22 as they welcome Foothill High to Lamonica. Plus, it’s Homecoming Week!! Food trucks, class skits, parade, and King and Queen crowning all taking place, so don’t miss out on this eventful night! Kickoff is at 7:00pm.
