WSL Athletics Week 4 Preview: “Aztecs look for back-to-back wins”

Mendota Aztecs are on a high coming off a hard-fought win against the Roosevelt Roughriders at Sunnyside Stadium last Friday with the score 12-6 and earned their first win of 2017. Mendota is now 1-2 and will now play their 2nd game of the 3 game road trip against Immanuel (Reedley) this Friday with the hopes of being at .500 before their bye week on the 22nd.

Will the Aztecs ground the Eagles at Immanuel High Sports Complex or will the Eagles of Immanuel unleash an ariel assault and defend their nest? Mendota Aztecs on the road at Immanuel Friday Night.

Avenal finally shook off their rust and played their style of smashmouth football after earning a wild overtime win on Friday night at Corcoran 26-20. The Bucs will enter their Bye week (1-2) overall and take the extra time to practice to prepare for the 2nd game of their 3 game road trip which will be against Farmersville on the 22nd.
Coalinga after starting off well winning back-to-back games have finally bit off more than they could chew as the Lions of Kerman ended their winning streak as the visitors came and took the win at Horned Toad Stadium 34-20 on Friday night. Coalinga remains as overall leaders on the WSL at (2-1) and they will now turn their attention to the Selma Bears who will come to Coalinga this Friday. Last year Selma hosted Coalinga and were leading 34-0 at halftime when the game was called after a shooting nearby the stadium. Will Coalinga finally get their revenge on the Bears? Or will Selma get the win and start a losing streak for Coalinga before their bye week? Coalinga host Selma Bears Friday night
Tranquillity seems to be going down the same path as last year as their losing streak continues after falling on the road 41-0 against Fresno High at Historic Ratcliffe Stadium this past Friday night. Tranquillity will look to enter their bye week on a high note as they conclude their 4 game opening road trip at Minarets on Friday night. Can the Tigers keep the Mustangs at bay? or will the Mustangs of Minarets corral the Tigers of Tranquillity?
Firebaugh entered their bye week (1-1) after beating Fowler back on the 1st 36-21and will look to start a win streak as they come back home to host the hot Riverdale Cowboys
Eagles vs. Cowboys Friday the 15th at Eagles Stadium and I’m not talking about the intense NFC East rivalry in the NFL, Dos Palos come back from their bye week also (1-1) as they are getting ready for their annual rivalry game against Los Banos “The Westside War” at Loftin Stadium. Dos Palos is coming off losing against Roosevelt 34-12 and are looking the end a losing streak against their hated rivals from up north. Los Banos Tigers vs. Dos Palos Broncos Friday night
