A Statement Week For Dinuba

Week 1. A statement week. A week where Dinuba definitely sent one, as the Varsity team won 28-0 against Mission Oak High School. Junior Varsity winning 41-0 and FROSH winning 53-0. If that’s not a statement, I don’t know what is.
The JV team also had an amazing day on both sides of the ball, as they started off the day with a touchdown to Tight End Cameron Amador. It then was just a show on both sides of the ball. The offensive player of the game being TE Cameron Amador, who had 2 touchdowns. Defensive Player of the game being Mark Tio Annen, who had an amazing game as he locked it down on defense and had a Punt return touchdown. He also had an interception returned for a touchdown but it was called back due to a roughing the passer call on Defensive Tackle Diego Moya.
Last but not least the Varsity team beat Mission Oak 28-0, making a complete shutout by all three teams. Joshua Magana had 2 passing touchdowns to WR Colton Martinez and WR Nate Carrion. Their defense was absolutely flawless, as they had multiple stops and (should’ve) had 2 defensive touchdowns. One of them was called back due to an illegal blocking call on CB Jacob Huerta (The touchdown was scored by DE Adam Aguilar.) Then a little before the 5-minute mark, Robert Diaz returns an interception for a touchdown making the score 28-0. Luis Colunga also got his QBR up, as he threw a touchdown to WR Colton Martinez.
Offensive Player of The Week: WR Colton Martinez, received 2 touchdown passes
Defensive player of the week: LB Daniel Long, had 15+ tackles against Mission Oak. (Also one fumble recovery.)
The Dinuba team will now face Redwood who has a tough time on both sides of the ball against Reedley. Joshua Magana hopes to improve on his Varsity debut season and the defense hopes to have another shutout. Dinuba’s first rally for the season will finally be thrown on Friday, the same day as the game. If you’re trying to go to the game, it will be at Dinuba’s home field at 7:30 pm or varsity and 5:30 pm for JV.
