FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
PAG METER PREDICTIONS FOR WEEK 2
Lindsay Cardinals (1-1) at Avenal Buccaneers (0-2)
Pag Meter line Lindsay -10
Last year the Cardinals defense stepped up in the win at home over the Bucs 15-8.
Could be another D battle? The Cardinals defense is good and the Bucs are young.
Lindsay 23 Avenal 13
Final Lindsay 22 Avenal 6
Yep, the Cardinals defense is real good. (No Stats available)
Bullard Knights (0-2) at Buchanan Bears (2-0)
Pag Meter Line Buchanan -20
Football is all about matchups and the Knights just didn’t matchup with the Central size and speed. This is a big game for the Knights especially since they got crushed at Central 44-0. As expected the Bears crushed Hanford 48-6. Kendall Milton scored 4 TD’s including a 33-yard screen pass from Ty Hall. Ty Hall threw 4 TD passes, (2 Josh Huddleson, and a 55 yarder to Brock Jones) Trevor Ervin scored on a 15 yard run.
Last year the Bears beat up the Knights twice including the playoffs. In both games the Knights were manhandled and just didn’t want it as much as the Bears did.
Looking at this game, the Knights match up much better with Buchanan compared to playing the Grizzlies but the big X factor, will be the Knights bring the old school Knights football mentality to Buchanan? Stay tuned.
If the Knights lose on Friday, it could be an 0-5 to start the year.
Pag Meter Prediction Buchanan 34 Bullard 14
Final Buchanan 55 Bullard 18
The Bears beat up the young Knights just like last year. Trevor Ervin scored 4 TD’s including a 65 yard run. Kendall Milton scored 3 TD’s and the Bears rushed for 435 yards. The Knights had 26 penalties (11 in the first quarter)
Caruthers Blue Raiders (1-0) at Yosemite Badgers (1-0
Has been cancelled because of bad air from the fire.
Central Grizzlies (2-0) at Sunnyside Wildcats (0-2)
Pag Meter line Central -36
The only chance the Wildcats have in this one is if the Grizzlies have a huge let down and the Grizzlies are thinking about Liberty Bakersfield next week and also De La Salle on Sept 23.
The Grizzlies steamed rolled Bullard 44-0 and it could have been 70-0. The Grizzlies defense which was led by senior LB Tre Walker (12 tackles), who man handled the Knights offense. Central’s QB Trent Tompkins threw for 244 yards, 4 TD passes (Jacob Torrez, 67 & 71 yards, Jeremiah Hunter, 10 yards and Avery Boyd 17 yards) and Trent also scored on a 47 yard TD run. Diotry Brewer had a very nice 41 yard TD run. The Wildcats blew a 19-0 lead and lost 20-19 to Clovis North.
The X factor is can the Wildcats slow down the Grizzlies offense? Will the Grizzlies come in flat? I can’t see Trent Tompkins coming in flat.
Pag Meter Prediction Central 50 Sunnyside 14 (Running clock)
Final Central 56 Sunnyside 6
Pag Meter All Star & linebacker Tre Walker, started the Central scoring when he picked off a pass and took it back for a 21-TD. Tre also scored on a 1-yard TD run. Tyrell Grayson also scored on a 50-yard INT return. Jevon Bigelow rushed for 124 yards and scored 2 TD’s (21 and 51 yards) QB Trent Tompkins went 11-23 for 200 yards with 2 TD passes. ( Avery Boyd, 11 yards and Jeremiah Hunter 20 yards) Jacob Torrez caught 3 passes for 89-yards. Diotry Brewer rushed for 81-yards and scored on a 2-yard run.
Bakersfield Christian Eagles (1-1) at CVC Cavaliers (2-0)
Pag Meter line CVC -6
The Game of the week! The battle of the Christian schools.
Both teams come in loaded on offense and two really good QB’s with BC Braden Wingle and CVC J.J. Lino.
The X factor is, it’s going to be REAL hot and last week BC got beat up with cramps and injuries. This is a tough call because BCHS QB Braden Wingle, suffered a mild knee sprain. If CVC can’t beat BC this week then forget it.
Pag Meter Prediction (Upset pick) CVC 33 BC 27
Final CVC 21 BC 12
CVC jumped out 21-0 zip and BC couldn’t catch up. Jaalen Rening, rushed for 147 yards and started the scoring when he bolted on a 77-yard TD run. CVC QB JJ Lino, went 11-23 for 245 yards and 2 TD passes. ( Brian Noel 14 yards and Van grouw 18 yards) Gavin Salierno caught 6 passes for 164 yards. BC, Braden Wingle, went 11-24 for 124 yards and threw a 8 yard TD pass to Calvin Yurosek
Fresno High Warriors (0-2) at Chowchilla Tribe (1-1)
Pag Meter line Chowchilla -14
Both teams were expected to play better in week one but both loss. The Warriors had to start at Chuck Shidan field and got waxed 42-0 and the Tribe got run out of Sunnyside stadium losing to Roosevelt 33-14.
Pag Meter Prediction Chowchilla 34 Fresno High 20
Final Chowchilla 38 Fresno High 18 (No stats available)
Clovis East T Wolves (0-2) vs Redwood Rangers (2-0)
Pag Meter line Redwood -21
The T Woves had a good night on defense in week 1 but the offense got shutout 7-0 to St Ignatius 7-0 and Redwood beat Reedley 42-0.
The X factor is the CE offense and has to play better to stay in this one.
Pag Meter Prediction Redwood 35 Clovis East 14
Final Redwood 36 Clovis East 14
Rangers junior QB Hector Gonzalez went 13-of-20 passing for 132 yards with 4 TD passes.
WR Drew Stogsdill caught 3 TD passes. (8, 15 and 18 yards)
Hanford West Huskies (2-0) at Corcoran Panthers (0-2)
Pag Meter line Hanford West -26
In week 1, the Huskies steam rolled the Highlanders 55-14 and the Panthers lost at Fowler 33-12. Julian Escalante had a nice game with 105 yd receiving and 52 rushing yards and scored a TD. Seniors Nico Obregon, 73 yards in receiving yards with a TD and Mark Dawes S/WR is the leader on the defense who had 14 total tackles. The 33-12 score was a lot closer than it looked. It was 7-6 in the 3rd quarter.
The X factor will be the Panthers offense this week because the defense is good. The Huskies have a ton of speed and now play in division 5.
Pag Meter Prediction Hanford West 39 Corcoran 14
Final Hanford West 51 Corcoran 6
HW Sophomore QB Ethan Natera started his first game and went off going 6-7 with 4 TD passes. Jayron Jenkins rushed for 103 yards and scored a TD.
Roosevelt Rough Riders (2-0) at Dos Palos Broncos (1-1)
Pag Meter line Roosevelt -15
This could be the best Roosevelt football team in 20 plus years. You can call this team Roosevelt/Edison. When Matt Johnson left Edison, so did some players and coaches.
The X factor is can the Broncos slow down the Thunder & Lightning offense of Howard Maxwell (Thunder) and Isaiah Chambers (Lightning), and 6’5 QB Jordan Del La Rosa. Can the Riders defense slow down the power running game of Brandon Doucette, Nick Lopez, Isaac Adams and Maximus Gaona.
Roosevelt did a nice job beating Chowchilla.
Pag Meter Prediction Roosevelt 37 Dos Palos 22
Final Roosevelt 38 Dos Palos 13 (No Stats available)
Fresno Christian Eagles (0-1) at Immanuel Eagles (1-0)
Pag Meter line Immanuel -42
The Battle of the Eagles and Fresno Christian is making their debut in 11 man football.
Kevin Riddle is back coaching at Immanuel.
Pag Meter Prediction Immanuel 49 Fresno Christian 7
Final Immanuel 42 Fresno Christian 0 (No Stats available)
Firebaugh Eagles (1-1) at Fowler Redcats (1-1)
Pag Meter line Fowler -6
This is a huge division 5 seeding game.
The Eagles were looking to get off to a great start but the defense got run over in a home loss to Liberty Ranchos 55-34.
The Redcats had a 7-6 lead in the 3rd quarter before knocking off Corcoran 33-12.
The X factor is the Eagles have the better offense and the Redcats have the much better defense. Something has to give!
Pag Meter Prediction Fowler 36 Firebaugh 30
Final Firebaugh 36 Fowler 21
The Pag Meter missed this pick. Eagles QB Jeshua Gutierrez went 14-20 for 294 yards and 4 TD passes. He also rushed for 80 yards. Tylor Palmer caught 5 passes for 128 yards with 3 TD passes.
Farmersville Aztecs (0-2) at Granite Hills Grizzlies (1-0)
Pag Meter line Granite Hills -26
The Grizzlies play in their home opener and the Aztecs come in getting beat up to Strathmore 42-6. New head coach at Granite Hills is Dan Williams and he has plenty of returning players and the Grizzlies has the makings to be good. Leading the way will be seniors TE/LB Daniel Orozco, RB/FS Seth Luna and RB/LB Alejandro Linares.
Pag Meter Prediction Granite Hills 39 Farmersville 13
Final Granite Hills 43 Farmersville 0
Senior RB Jasper Beruman, rushed for 156 yards and scored 4 TD’s.
Sanger Apaches (2-0) at Hanford Bullpups (0-2)
Pag Meter line Sanger -42
The Apaches beat up Fresno High 42-0 and the Bullpups got beat up by Buchanan 48-6. Another tough week for Hanford.
Can the Bullpups hang with the Apaches offense? Can they score? Nope
Pag Meter Prediction Sanger 49 Hanford 7
Final Sanger 42 Hanford 0
Pag Meter nailed the point spread. Apaches with another 42-0 score two weeks in a row. QB Blake Wolf is off to a great start and this week he went 4-4 for 163 yards with 2 TD passes. ( Morice Norris 92 yards and Jalen Cropper 31 yards) RB Ruben Uribe rushed for 88 yards with 2 TD runs of 5 and 33 yards. Orlando Douglas scored on a 13 yard TD run and Bli Kulow scored on a 3 yard TD run.
Madera South Stallions (0-2) at Kerman Lions (1-1)
Pag Meter line Kerman -14
Very interesting game. The Stallions are a work in progress and the Lions are thinking if they are a division 4 contender. The Madera South players are finally starting to buy in. Once they do then the Stallions will be fun to watch.
The Stallions had a 14-0 lead but made so many mistakes on both sides of the ball and lost to Pacheco 35-14. That was a big learning experience for Matt Johnson and his new team.
For the Lions, they played the division 4 defending champion Selma Bears tough and out played them for 3 plus quarters but lost on a fluke 2-point play 22-21.
The X factor is the Stallions defense and can they force Lions QB Sean Chambers to throw the ball in the pocket and not let him get lose? Chambers ran for 184 yards and was only 4-16 passing so it’s a no-brainer strategy. Once Sean gets his release/delivery figured out then the Lions could be playing on championship night because the Lions have the potential on both sides of the ball.
Last year the Lions steam rolled the Stallions 41-7 and this Stallions defense is much better this year but so is the Lions offense. Is Madera South ready to step up? junior QB Steven Alaniz has to throw in passing lanes and not change is throwing style. Against Pacheco he did.
Pag Meter Prediction Kerman 28 Madera South 14
Final Kerman 27 Madera South 14
Tough night for the Lions family when they found out their coach Anthony Buff Taylor passes away.
Colton Smith scored 4 TD’s (19, 13, 8, 69 yards) and Chris Acosta rushed for 156 yards and Sean Chambers rushed for 118 yards. For the Stallions, Matthew Posas scored on a 42 yard TD run and Junior Segura scored on a 69 yard TD run.
Golden West Trailblazers (2-0) at Kingsburg Vikings (0-1)
Pag Meter line Golden West -21
It’s the Vikings opener and they have to face the division 4 powerhouse.
The X factor will be the Vikings defense and a hot night.
Pag Meter Prediction Golden West 35 Kingsburg 14
Final Golden West 28 Kingsburg 7
Pag Meter nailed the point spread. Christian Ortiz rushed for 88 yards and scored 2 TD’s. The Blazers rushed for 241 yards as a team and scored 4 TD’s.
Liberty Madera Hawks (2-0) at Mendota Aztecs (0-2)
Pag Meter line Liberty Madera -15
I can’t remember a time where the Aztecs lost 2 straight at home and now they play the Hawks.
The Hawks come in after beating up Firebaugh 55-34. The Roth brothers, Kaleb rushed for 198 yards and scored 3 TD’s, Wyatt rushed for 191 yards and scored 2 TD’s. The Hawks rushed for 574 yards. Orestimba beat Mendota 41-20
The X factor is the Aztecs front 7 on defense.
Pag Meter Prediction Liberty Madera 35 Mendota 20
Final Liberty Madera 41 Mendota 7 (No stats available)
Mission Oak Hawks (0-2) at Madera Coyotes (1-1)
Pag Meter line Madera -14
Coyotes head coach Yosef Fares is looking for his first win as a head coach and it will be on Friday.
Pag Meter Prediction Madera 34 Mission Oak 20
Final Madera 30 Mission Oak 24
Yosef Fares gets his 1st win as a head coach. Joziah Velasquez scored the game winning 8 yard TD with 4:19 to go. Jayson Regua scored on a 7 yard TD run and sophomore (female) kicker Brisa Meza nails the extra point kick, she also nailed a 24 yard field goal. QB Colt Nelson hit Jerry Hernandez on a 2-yard TD pass. Joziah Velasquez also scored on a 1 yard TD run.
Sierra Chieftains (0-1) at Minarets Mustangs (1-1)
Pag Meter line Sierra -7
Sierra opens up their football season and they will have Senior RB Shane Maldonado who is a beast and senior QB Tristan Wilson. The Mustangs started the year with a loss to Orosi and had some players suspended because of team rules. How good is Sierra? We will find out.
Pag Meter Prediction Sierra 34 Minarets 27
Final Minarets 45 Sierra 7
Keep an eye on the Mustangs because this is the best team in school history. Don’t go by last week’s lost because many players were suspended. Noah Fulton made the start at QB and went off going 13-20 for 339 yards and 5 TD passes. Zack Redman caught 4 passes for 146 yards with 2 TD’s. E.G Walden caught 5 passes for 149 yards and 2 TD’s. RB Tyson Ellis rushed for 120 yards. The Mustangs defense was swarming all night long and held Sierra to 150 total yards. Sierra RB Shane Maldonado got hurt in the 2nd quarter and never returned.
Mt. Whitney Pioneers (0-2) vs Tulare Western Mustangs (2-0)
Pag Meter line Tulare Western -35
The Pioneers had to open with the division 2 powerhouse Tulare Union Tribe and now they get the division 3 powerhouse the Tulare Western Mustangs.
TU beat MW 60-7 and TW beat El Diamante 28-0. The Mustangs defense was too much for the Miners and the offense rolled. Sophomore QB Elijah Burrell with a nice first start going 15-25 for 167 yards and 2 TD passes. (Keshon Butler, 23 and 42 yard TD’s) David Alcantar rushed for 169 yards and scored on a 39 yard run. Tairyn Johnson rushed for 70 yards and on a 7 yard TD run.
The X factor is the MW defense and can they hang with the speed of the Mustangs? TU scored 60 against MW. I’m thinking TW could try to beat that.
Pag Meter Prediction Tulare Western 49 Mt Whitney 14
Final Tulare Western 63 Mt Whitney 28
WR Keshon Butler had a huge game catching 9 footballs for 380 yards and scored 4 TD’s. (76, 80, 71 and 56 yards. WOW!) QB Elijah Burrell had a career nigh going 15-19, for 427 yards with 4 TD passes. David Alcantar scored 2 TD’s (2 and 6 yards)
Orange Cove Titans (0-2) at Riverdale Cowboys (2-0)
Pag Meter line Riverdale -14
This is a very good Cowboys team and the Titans are young and will get better.
In week 1 the Titans lost to Woodlake 30-13 and Riverdale beat Laton 60-7.Senior J.P. Sanchez scored 3 TD’s (10, 18 & 21 yards) and Edward Barajas scored 2 TD’s with a 22 yard run and a 57 yard INT.
Pag Meter Prediction Riverdale 34 Orange Cove 20
Final Riverdale 28 Orange Cove 15 (No stats available)
Parlier Panthers (0-1) at Orosi Cardinals (2-0)
Pag Meter line Orosi -23
Both teams are figured to be much improved in 2017. This is the Panthers opener and they had a very good summer in the passing leagues and Orosi comes off a big win over Minarets.
The X factor is the Cardinals have already played a game and most of the time that is big.
Pag Meter Prediction Orosi 39 Parlier 16
Final Orosi 48 Parlier 14 (No Stats available)
Reedley Pirates (0-2) at Dinuba Emperors (2-0)
Pag Meter line Dinuba -42
This is an old school rivalry but right now the Emperors are rolling and the Pirates are rebuilding. In week 1, Reedley lost to Redwood 42-0 and Dinuba shutout Mission Oak 28-0. Sophomore QB Josh Magana with a nice debut throwing 2 TD passes. 61 yards to Nate Carrion and 35 yarder to Colton Martinez. Robert Diaz with 74 yard pick 6.
The X factor will the Pirates score?
Pag Meter Prediction Dinuba 48 Reedley 6
Final Dinuba 51 Reedley 0 (No Stats Available)
The Emperors are 79-0 in 2 games
Lemoore Tigers (1-1) at Memorial Panthers (2-0)
Pag Meter line Memorial -14
Both teams have really improved. The Tigers come in after beating Paso Robles on the road 12-7. Memorial beat up Washington Union 47-14.
The X factor is the Tigers offense and can they keep up with the Panthers offense. If so, this could be a shoot out. It was a shoot out
Pag Meter Prediction Memorial 38 Lemoore 24
Final Memorial 53 Lemoore 46
SJM sophomore WR Jalen McMillan had a huge break out night catching 12 footballs for 369 yards and scored 6 TD’s. Junior QB Alec Trujillo had his best game ever going 21 for 26 for 488 yards and 6 TD’s.
Washington Union Panthers (0-2) at Selma Bears (2-0)
Pag Meter line Selma -14
In week 1, the Panthers lost to Memorial 47-14 and Selma got out played for 3 ½ quarters but won on a fluke play 22-21.
The Panthers are young and Selma is struggling at running the football. The Bears moved All Star QB Junior Ramirez to some running back while Tiveon Stroud is out and not eligible for a awhile.
Pag Meter Prediction Selma 28 Washington 14
Final Selma 20 Washington Union 17
We all have to remember that this is not the same Bears team as last year. The Bears graduated a ton and Tiveon Stroud is not coming back until Oct. Omar Gonzalez scored the game winning 11 yard TD. Jacob Martinez scored the first Bears TD with an 18 yard run. Junior Ramirez hit Brian Ching on a 2 yard TD pass. For WU, QB Victor Nava went 5-10 for 135 yards and 2 TD passes. ( Jesus Garcia, 26 yards and Zoriam Temple, 78 yards)
Sierra Pacific Golden Bears (0-1) vs Hoover Patriots (0-1)
Pag Meter line Hoover -1
This should be a very good game with two teams improving.
The X factor is the defensive front 7. The Patriots will have plenty of loud fans.
Pag Meter Prediction Hoover 23 Sierra Pacific 22
Final Sierra Pacific 28 Hoover 27 (What a game!) (No Stats available)
Tulare Union Tribe (2-0 ) vs El Diamante Miners (0-2)
Pag Meter line Tulare Union -19
The Miners got shutout by Tulare Western 28-0 and now they get Tulare Union who beat Mt Whitney 60-7. El D’s defense just can not match up with the Tribe’s offense.
Pag Meter Prediction Tulare Union 49 El Diamante 14
Final Tulare Union 48 El Diamante 7
The Tribe had 412 total yards by halftime. WOW! Kazmeir Allen rushed for 189 yards and scored 4 TD’s on 11 carries. (10, 34, 62 and 47 yards). QB Nathan Lamb went 20-of-25 for 285 yards and 3 TD’s. Lamb has thrown for 654 yards with 6 touchdowns and no interceptions in 2 games. Emoryie Edwards, had a historic night with 12 catches for 191 yards and 2 touchdowns. Edwards is now the Central Section’s all-time career leader in receptions with 212, surpassing Arvin’s Bill Satterfield (209 career receptions). Emoryie will shatter the record!!!
Exeter Monarchs (2-0) at Woodlake Tigers (1-1)
Valencia Cup
Pag Meter line Exeter -27
Exeter has won this game for the last 13 years in a row.
The X factor, it will be 14 straight years for the Monarchs.
Pag Meter Prediction Exeter 41 Woodlake 14
Final Exeter 35 Woodlake 7
Christian Genetti caught a 30 yard TD pass from Josiah Martinez an scored on a 19 yard TD run and the Monarchs defense does the rest.
Clovis North Broncos (1-0) vs Bellarmine Bells (1-0)
Pag Meter line Bellarmine -14
The young Broncos get to play a professional high school at San Jose City College.
The X factor is the Broncos offense, can they score enough with long drives or will linebacker Noah Riley and the Broncos defense be on the field for most the game? Last year the Broncos kicked butt for 3 quarters and lost. Can the offense hang with the professionals?
Pag Meter Prediction Bellarmine 28 Clovis North 14
Final Bellermine 16 Clovis North 13 (No Stats Available)
Last week the Broncos came back from 19 points down and won, and this week the Broncos blew a 13-3 lead.
Turlock Bulldogs (1-1) at Clovis Cougars (1-1)
Pag Meter line Clovis -7
The Cougars come in after shutting out Burbank 27-0. Senior QB Payton Mayer looked real good going 12-20 for 192 yards and 3 TD passes and the Cougars defense did their thing. Bubba Byrd, caught a 12 yard TD and Michael Machado caught a couple of TD’s with 46 and 27 yards.
Turlock lost to Freedom 34-16. The Young Bulldogs couldn’t slow down the bigger Freedom team.
Last year Clovis won the battle 34-28 in overtime in a great game.
The Freedom offensive line is better right now over the Cougars O-line but every week the Cougars line is getting better.
What Freedom doesn’t have and Turlock will find out is the best kept secret in the valley is the QB at Clovis with 6’5 200 lb Payton Mayer. You all remember Josh Allen at Firebaugh? Josh was 6’5, 165 lbs his senior year. At this time Payton is much stronger when Josh was a senior. Payton is going to be real good with a very strong arm and just watch the colleges step up real soon. He just needs to play.
The X factor is Cougars running back Cole Roberts who is a beast in the back field. This should be a real good game.
Pag Meter Prediction Clovis 27 Turlock 20
Week 1 recap vs Turlock. pic.twitter.com/H1pHCjmGFP
— Clovis Football (@ClovisFootball) September 3, 2017
Final Turlock 14 Clovis 13
The Cougars defense has yet to give up a point in 8 quarters. The Cougars lost a tough one on a blocked extra point. The Beast Cole Roberts scored on a 14 yard run and caught a 3 yard TD pass from Payton Mayer.
Damonte Ranch Mustangs-Reno (2-0) vs Edison Tigers (0-2)
Pag Meter line Edison -14
The Tigers come in after losing to Bakersfield 16-0. The defense was very good and the offense was horrible. The Tigers missed ex coach Matt Johnson on the sidelines and it was a Tigers s%#t show.
Damonte Ranch are the defending Northern Nevada champions going 12-2 and have QB Cade McNamara who threw for 3,577 yards, 46 TD’s last season and has verbally committed to play at Notre Dame. Last year the Mustangs beat the Tigers 26-10. Damonte Ranch beat Northgate from Walnut Creek 46-16 in the opener and McNamara threw for 400 yards and 4 TD’s.
For the Tigers offense, they are still looking for some QB and offensive line play. At QB, it will be either sophomore Jameson Silva or junior Vincent Magic Andrews.
The X factor and what a matchup…the fantastic Mustangs offense vs the fantastic Tigers defense. Can Damonte Ranch handle the Hot weather? It’s hard to take the Tigers when the offense is 4 weeks away from being good.
Pag Meter Prediction (Upset special) Damonte Ranch 24 Edison 20
Final Damonte Ranch 27 Edison 26 (No stats available)
The Pag Meter nailed the upset pick in a great game
Coalinga Horned Toads (2-0) at Gonzales Bulldogs (0-2)
Pag Meter line Coalinga -22
The X factor is the Toads are a physical football team
Pag Meter Prediction Coalinga 34 Gonzales 12
Final Coalinga 48 Gonzales 14
It’s official….The Toads are good! Jayden Jiminez rushed for 104 yards on 12 carries and scored a TD. Mike Cerda rushed for 53 yards on 8 carries and scored a TD and the Toads defense did the rest.
Littlerock Lobos (1-1) at California City Ravens (0-2)
Pag Meter line Littlerock -9
The X factor is which offense can finish drives with points?
Pag Meter Prediction Littlerock 25 Cal City 16
Final Littlerock 24 Cal City 18 (No Stats available)
Lancaster Eagles (0-1) at Rosamond Roadrunners (2-0)
Pag Meter line Rosamond -17
The Roadrunners need to win this one at home.
Pag Meter Prediction Rosamond 37 Lancaster 20
Final Rosamond 44 Lancaster 12 (No Stats available)
Templeton Eagles (0-2) at Strathmore Spartans (2-0)
Pag Meter line -38
This is a tough matchup for the Eagles
Pag Meter Prediction Strathmore 50 Templeton 12
Final Strathmore 55 Templeton 20 (No Stats available)
Burroughs Burros (2-0) at Tehachapi Warriors (0-1)
Pag Meter line Burrough -6
I’m glad to see the Warriors are playing! It’s the Warriors home opener and Doug DeGeer, makes his debut as the new Warriors head coach.
This is a tough one to pick because it’s the Warriors opener, and Burroughs has already played a game. A team that has played a game has the upper hand.
Pag Meter Prediction Burroughs 26 Tehachapi 20
Final Burroughs 36 Tehachapi 0 (No Stats available)
Saturday
Orem Tigers-(Utah) (2-0) vs Bakersfield Drillers (1-1)
Pag Meter line Bakersfield -28
The Drillers come in after beating Edison 16-0 and the Tigers beat Sutter 34-18.
The X factor is the Tigers could practice for 2 months and still never be ready for the Drillers offense and the in your face Drillers defense. The Edison defense is much better than the Orem defense. AND THE OREM OFFENSE IS LIGHT YEARS BETTER THAN EDISON’S OFFENSE!!!
Pag Meter Prediction Bakersfield 49 Orem 21
Final Orem 63 Bakersfield 28
Pag Meter missed this pick. The Drillers in your face defense got beat up. Orem quarterback Cooper Legas threw for 365 yards with 6 touchdowns to 5 different receivers.
St. John Bosco Braves (1-1) vs Garces Rams (0-2)
Pag Meter line St John Bosco -41
The Garces Rams get to face a true private professional high school. I would have loved to see last years Garces Rams team play the professional St John Bosco Braves but this year’s Rams team is young in spots and the matchup will be difficult.
Pag Meter Prediction St John Bosco 48 Garces 7
Final St John Bosco 63 Garces 0
This game should have never been played. The Rams have 34 players on the roster and one of the most recruited private professional high schools in the land Bosco has 28 division 1 commits. This was child abuse.
No early prediction for reedley’s Immanuel Eagles?
Double checking ..This is 11 man football? correct? Fresno C is playing 8 man this year
Yes, Fresno Christian moved up to 11 man football this year- Immanuel still Div 5-
Reedley high beats Immanuel in a low scoring game 14-13
Reedley plays selma and Immanuel plays Chowchilla
