The CIF and Pag Meter Rankings were off a little in the division 5 brackets. The defending Champs Firebaugh Eagles and also Caruthers got some bad seeds. Coalinga Horned Toads are the big time favorites to win it all.

No 1 Coalinga Horned Toads (24-6) (6-3 W Sierra)
  • Beat Rosamond 5-1 in the Championship. WP Linnay Wilson, CG, 10 K’s and had a 2 run double. 
  • Beat McLane 10-2 in the semifinals. WP Linnay Wilson,, CG 7 K’s and went 2-4, 2 run homer. Aubrie Walker, 3-4, triple, 2 doubles, 4 RBI’s. Madison Milligan 2-4, RBI.  Kayla Voss, 2-4. 
No 2 Rosamond Roadrunners (23-7) (9-1 HDL Champions)
  • The entire team returns and the Roadrunners will be good. Isabelle Gomez returns in the circle. Senior Marissa Gibson and junior Alicia Soliz lead the offense
No 3 McLane Highlanders (17-9-1) (5-5 NYL)
  • Plenty return this year including senior pitchers Victoria Hernandez and Serena Thompkins
No 4 Firebaugh Eagles (15-14) (6-4 W Sierra)
  • The base stealing division 5 section champions are ready to repeat. Junior Marissa Gutierrez, senior Alexis Lopez and Secilia Mendina lead the way. The X factor to win it all again is pitching.
No 5 Sierra Chieftains (14-8) (5-5 NSL)
  • Has the team to win it all
No 6 Highland Scots (15-11) (11-1 SEYL Champions)
  • Everybody is coming back including sophomore ace Savannah Madgaleno. Junior Aviana Campos and sophomore Mikayala Nunlist lead the offense
No 7 Bishop Broncos (16-8-1) (6-4 HDL)
  • The Broncos lose some but will have a good offense with senior Bailee Piper and Sabrina Barlow. The X factor will be the pitching
No 8 Kern Valley Broncs (17-9) (5-5 HDL)
  • Will be young in spots. Sophomore Helen Hayes could be the new ace.
No 9 Caruthers Blue Raiders (17-11) (10-0 W Sequoia Champions)
  • Sophomore Sydney Kuma is back in the circle and she is good and has already verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs.  Seniors Alyssa Sanchez and Juliette Davila are good.
No 10 Roosevelt Rough Riders (14-8) (3-7 NYL)
  • Will be competitive in the NYL
No 11 Sierra Pacific Golden Bears (17-8) (12-3 E Sequoia)
  • Plenty Golden Bears return for 2017 that can swing the bats with seniors Lilly Goins and Kalyn Simas and sophomore Arianna Chavarin. The X factor is the pitching.
No 12 Lindsay Cardinals (17-10) (14-1 E Sequoia Champions)
  • The Cardinals lose some but have plenty returning including senior Alyessa Nunez and junior Danielle Jauregui.
No 13 Shafter Generals (14-14) (7-5 W Sequoia)
  • Junior Isabelle Martinez and senior Samantha Cabrera return in the circle
No 14 Desert Scorpions (10-9) (3-7 HDL)
  • New to the central section and almost everybody returns for this year. Junior Emily Jackson returns as the ace. Junior Elena Escobar and sophomore Moon Gonzales are very good hitters.489
No 15 Foothill Trojans (6-13) (3-5 SEYL)
  • Madison Langford leads the Trojans. Plenty return from last year.
No 16 Arvin Bears (10-17) (4-7 S Seq)
  • Plenty of the Bears return for this year
No 17 Yosemite Badgers (5-18) (0-10 NSL)
  • Season Ends
No 18 Riverdale Cowboys (10-12) (4-6 W Sequoia)
  • Season ends
