 DIVISION 5 SECTION CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

  • California City 77 Caruthers 72
    • Jordan Mays hit 6 3-pointers and led Cal City with 20 points. Mays, little brother, freshman Madetoneyo, scored 15 points, and Hubert Johnson added 13 for the Ravens.
    • Ishaan Rahal scored 22 of his game-high 29 points in the 2nd half for Caruthers.

The Pag Meter division 5 Rankings

  • No 1 California City (22-6) (7-3 HDL)
    • Young last year. Contender to win the HDL. Juniors Hubert Johnson (21 ppg) and Raymond Powell (20 ppg) lead the Ravens.
  • No 2 Caruthers (12-14) (4-6 W SEQ)
    • Beat Minarets
    • We all know what happened last year when Caruthers railroaded head coach Josh Henderson out of coaching for absolutely nothing. Sukman Gill is back from last years injury and can shoot lights out.
  • No 3 Fresno Christian (17-15)(8-2 W SEQ)
    • Will be battle tested playing a tough schedule. Wants to get to Selland Arena again this year.  Leading the way is Daniel Walker
  • No 4 Dos Palos (18-9)(8-2 W Sierra)
    • Beat Liberty. Playing a tough schedule. Keep an eye on Manuel Harper
  • No 4 Caruthers (12-16) (4-6 W SEQ)

  • No 7 Liberty Ranchos (13-16) (3-7 NSL)
    • Beat Laton, Riverdale, Dos Palos, 
    • Has plenty coming back including Markie Brandt
  • No 8 Laton (16-11) (9-5 E Sierra)
    • Beat Farmersville.
    • Lost a bunch from last year but always tough. Seniors Ivan Soto (13 ppg) and Vincent Alves (10 ppg) will be the top scorers for the Mustangs.
  • No 9 Kern Valley (9-15)(5-5 HDL )
    • The defending champion Kern Valley Broncs lost a bunch from last years team but still has Zach Bushling.
  • No 10 Sierra (6-16) (3-7 NSL)
    • Will get better and better with a young team. Harrison Blunt and Tristan Wilson lead the Chieftains.
  • No 11 Mendota (11-17) (5-5 W Sierra)
    • Will be much better when football season is over when Fabian Jasso comes out.
  • No 12 Wonderful College (12-18) (8-6 E Sierra)
    • Young team with Sophomore Jason Ramirez (10 ppg) and junior Augustine Sanchez (11 ppg)  
  • No 13 Parlier (6-14) (4-6 W Seq)
    • Beat Minarets, Laton
    • The Panthers have the potential.  Emmanuel Ayala (12 ppg)​​​​​​
