Thursday Night Football
EAST SEQUOIA
- Lindsay (3-3) (0-1) vs Sierra Pacific (3-3) (1-0)
- Pag Meter Line Sierra Pacific -7
- The Golden Bears lost a game last week to Orosi that they thought they would just show up and win. SP has to learn that there is a target on their back and they have to play 4 quarters of Golden Bears football. We do know that the Cardinals will play hard for 48 minutes.
- The X factor is which team can finish drives with touchdowns and who plays better defense?
- Pag Meter Prediction Sierra Pacific 42 Lindsay 35
- Final Sierra Pacific 55 Lindsay 52
NORTH YOSEMITE
- Roosevelt (0-6) (0-1) at Sunnyside (4-2) (1-0)
- Pag Meter Line Sunnyside -Running clock
- The X factor is the Wildcats have way too much on both sides of the ball vs the Rough Riders.
- Pag Meter Prediction Sunnyside 53 Roosevelt 0
- Final Sunnyside 40 Roosevelt 0
Friday Night Lights
TRAC
- Buchanan (4-2) (0-1) at Central (5-1) (1-0)
- Pag Meter line Central -21
- The Bear bowl
- The Bears have been working on the Grizzlies game plan since they lost to Liberty. The Red hot Grizzlies hated taking a bye because when you are playing great football you don’t want to take a week off.
- The X factor is can the Bears hang on the turf with their cousins vs that Grizzly Bears team speed? The Grizzlies are going to play man to man defense and load the box so can the Bears run the ball? The Bears have to run the ball with the big guys upfront or this game will get out of hand. Can the Bears defense put pressure on sophomore QB Trent Tompkins who is playing like a senior going 79-127 for 1,248 and 15 TD passes? This is the perfect time to play Central because Central takes on No 1 Clovis next week. This game could be close for a awhile.
- Pag Meter Prediction Central 35 Buchanan 14
- Final Central 37 Buchanan 21
- Clovis East (0-6) (0-1) at Clovis (6-0) (1-0)
- Pag Meter line Running clock

- Clovis North (3-3) (0-1) vs Clovis West (4-2) (1-0)
- Broadcasted on 790 ESPN Radio with the Pag Meter and legend coach Tim Simons
- Pag Meter line Clovis North -2
- The TRAC game of the week. Broncos QB Brent Bailey vs Golden Eagles QB Adrian Martinez.
- The X factor in this game is simple….which defense can slow down the other quarterback? The Broncos are getting healthy again.
- Clovis North can pound the ball and Clovis West struggles running between the tackles. That could be another factor.
- This should be a very good game!
- Pag Meter Prediction Clovis North 31 Clovis West 30
- Final Clovis West 24 Clovis North 12
- QB Adrian Martinez with a huge 57 yard TD run to go with 2 TD passes.
CMAC
- Edison (1-5)(1-0) at Madera (0-6) (0-1)
- Pag Meter line Edison -27
- Both teams need a win.
- The X factor is the Tigers defense is light years better than the Coyotes defense. The Coyotes will give the Tigers some issues with the quick running backs but I see the Tigers offense finally getting on track. Look for the Tigers to get some long touchdowns. Can Tigers QB Adrian Galarza finally have a breakout game?
- Pag Meter Prediction Edison 47 Madera 20
- Final Edison 52 Madera 10
- Jake Hanson with 19 tackles
- Madera South (2-4) (0-1) at San Joaquin Memorial (4-2) (1-0)
- Pag Meter line Memorial -21
- This is a battle of two senior QB’s with Jonah Johnson vs Michael Alvarez. Both defenses have been shaky and both teams need a win. Both teams came in the with high hopes so this is a must win to be 1-0.
- The X factor is the Stallions defense will struggle slowing down Mr TD Dashawn Holliman has rushed for 561 yards and has scored 10 TD’s.
- Pag Meter Prediction Memorial 44 Madera South 23
- Final Memorial 48 Madera South 20
- DEMARCUS WILSON, Running back, Memorial Panthers
- Rushed for 256 yards and scored 5 touchdowns on 12 carries and helped the Panthers beat up the Stallions.
- Bullard (2-4) (0-1) at Sanger (6-0) (1-0)
- The Armenian Bowl
- Pag Meter line Bullard -1
- The game of the week. The Apaches season starts against the Knights because the Apaches non league schedule was absolutely the worst with the last 3 teams they have played are a combined 1-15. It’s not the Apaches fault because the teams they played were horrible. It’s the way the football rolls…
- The Knights have played the opposite with a killer schedule. Donnie Arax is 9-3 in the Armenian Bowl over Chuck Shidan. Sanger won it last year over Bullard 21-14 but Bullard owns the all time series 21-14. This is the Knights west coast wing T vs the Apaches triple option.
- The X factor is who can win the battle on the line of scrimmage? Sanger did. The other X factor is Bullard can throw it with senior QB Jack Taylor and the Apaches haven’t had to because every game they have played the game has been over by halftime. Can the Apaches throw it if needed? Last time they played in Sanger, the Knights and sophomore Jack Taylor won it in the last seconds in the rain in a wild finish on a Taylor TD pass.
- Pag Meter Prediction Bullard 31 Sanger 28
- Final Sanger 21 Bullard 19
- The Knights with 19 yards rushing. Last year the Apaches defense was real good and this year it’s even better. Jalen Cropper is so good when he is at QB and made the big run of the game with a 48 yard TD run. Cropper rushed for 163 yards also scored on a 29 yard TD run. Andrew Azua scored on a 10 yard TD run.
NORTH SEQUOIA
- Kerman (4-3) (0-1) at Chowchilla (6-0) (1-0)
- Pag Meter line Dos Palos -32
- This is the Lions offense vs the red hot Redskins defense. This is a rematch of last year in the playoffs when Chowchilla crushed Kerman.
- The Lions have struggled against good defenses like Selma and Coalinga. The Selma Bears came out with pressure on the edge to keep QB Sean Chambers in the pocket and not let him run. I sure hope the Lions are ready for that because football is a copycat sport and if something works…teams will copy it and the Redskins will bring it with that same type of formula.
- The X factor along with the Lions offense vs the Redskins D is can the Lions slow down the Redskins running game? The only way you can do minor damage against the Redskins D is throw the ball.
- Can Sean Chambers stay in the pocket and pick apart the Redskins? Football is all about matchups and the Lions don’t match up well against the Redskins.
- Pag Meter Prediction Chowchilla 53 Kerman 21
- Final Chowchilla 56 Kerman 13
- The Redskins have a better team than last year and the Redskins won it all last year. Division 4, be ready!
- Washington Union (4-3) (1-0) at Sierra (4-2) (0-1)
- Pag Meter line Washington Union -7
- This is a great matchup with two hot teams. It’s the Panthers Noah Beukers vs the power runner from Sierra’s Shane Maldonado.

- Pag Meter line Hoover -7
- The NYL game of the week. Both teams need a win.

- Pag Meter Prediction Hoover 29 Reedley 20
- Final Hoover 34 Reedley 14

- Pag Meter Prediction Selma 38 CVC 21
- Final Selma 28 CVC 17
WEST YOSEMITE
- Golden West (5-1) (1-1) at Lemoore (1-6) (1-2)
- Pag Meter line Golden West -19
- The Trailblazers lost a tough one last week to Redwood 24-21 and they have to get over it and move on. The Tigers got their first win of the year.

- Redwood (7-0) (3-0) at Hanford (4-3) (2-1)
- Pag Meter line Redwood -7
- The showdown of 2-0 teams in the WYL. The Rangers are 6-0 and the Bullpups have won 4 straight.
- The X factor is the Rangers defense vs Jordan Perryman. Hanford has won 4 in a row because the offensive line/Jordan Perryman and defense. The Rangers offense is on fire with QB Frankie Ayon who has thrown for 1,339 yards with 16 TD passes and has rushed for 219 yards and has scored 3 TD’s. Ayon could be the difference.
- Pag Meter Prediction Redwood 23 Hanford 17
- Final Redwood 14 Hanford 10
- Sometimes it’s good to be lucky. WR Kobe Garner caught a 3rd and long 74 yard TD pass from QB Frankie Ayon who threw it up and hoped Garner would go get it and he did for the game winner. The Rangers haven’t won league since 2004 and they are now in the driver’s seat.
SOUTHWEST YOSEMITE
- Garces (4-2) (0-1) vs Bakersfield (4-2) (1-0)
- Pag Meter line Bakersfield -3
- Both starting quarterbacks are lost for the season. Rams Conor Bruce, broke his leg on the 2nd play last week and Drillers Josh Maran, broke his collarbone 2 weeks ago. The good news for both teams is they have QB’s that would start for any team in the valley with Rams Joseph Tobias, and the speed option of Chris Coleman, vs the Drillers Caden Ochoa.
- The X factor is the defense vs the speed of both offenses. Can the Drillers wear down the Rams? A ton of Rams play both ways.
- Pag Meter Prediction Bakersfield 40 Garces 37
- Final Bakersfield 45 Garces 42
- The Drillers have a super star and they finally unleashed Cameron Williams at QB. Williams went 8-9 passing for 239 yards and threw 3 TD passes. Tahj Wright caught 4 passes for 170 yards including 73 and 69 yard TD catches.
-
- Liberty (4-2) (1-0) at Frontier (2-4) (0-1)
- Pag Meter line Liberty -14
- Even though the Patriots lost to the private professional high school team from San Diego, it was a good time for bye to settle the troops down and get ready for a playoff run. Liberty has the talent to win it all again so we will see. For the Titans their story is the defense. The Titans need the defense to step up to compete in the SWYL.
- The X factor is the Patriots QB play with senior Bryson Faulconer, and sophomore Isaiah Hill. Hill isn’t really ready yet to take over and lead the Patriots to a valley championship so they need Faulconer healthy and playing great.
